Emergency Medical Services / Life Squad Nine

In January 1978, Lucas County Life Squad Nine was housed at the Whitehouse Fire Station. This squad consists of 9 full time employees and 6 part time employees. The station is manned 24 hours a day and responds to emergency calls throughout Whitehouse and western Lucas County, but can respond anywhere within the County.

The firefighters / paramedics are on duty for 24 hours and then off for 48 hours. While on duty (24 hour shifts), they reside at the Fire Station located on Waterville Street, which is equipped with full living quarters.

Our firefighter/paramedics are highly trained individuals that possess the following credentials: A State of Ohio EMT-P certification, Level I Fire Fighter certification, BLS, ACLS, PALS and PEPP (preferred) certifications. They must have 60 -160 hours of on-the-job training with a L.C.E.M.S. Life Squad or equivalent E.M.S. background and complete continuing education courses and be recertified every three years.

The Village of Whitehouse contracts with Medicount Management for all billings for EMS services. If you have a question about a statement sent to you or your insurance company, please contact Medicount Management directly at 1-800-962-1484.

We are very fortunate to have these highly trained individuals just minutes away!
