Legal Department - Village Solicitor and Prosecutor

The Solicitor is appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by a majority of the members of Council. He serves the Mayor, Council, Administrative departments, and Boards and Commissions as legal counsel in connection with municipal affairs. The Solicitor also represents the municipality in proceedings in court or before any administrative board.

The Prosecutor represents the Village in all proceedings filed in the Maumee Municipal Court. She works with the Police Department and Zoning Department and files charges when necessary, attends pre-trials, meets with opposing Council, and handles all Court trials.
