July 15, 2008 Meeting Minutes
At 7:02 PM Mayor Angela Kuhn called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL: Maridee Curry, Jim Miller, Frank Billings, Michelle Tippie, Bill May, and Debby Curry. Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Maridee Curry to approve the bills totaling $49,178.97 dated July 1, 2008, the bills totaling $38,482.33 dated July 11, 2008, the addendum bills totaling $25,831.91 dated July 15, 2008, and June's Financial Statement. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Michelle Tippie to approve use of the log cabin site to the Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society on August 13, 2008 and/or August 20, 2008 to host a joint meeting to thank sponsors, volunteers, and Village Staff for their assistance with the Cherry Festival. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to authorize June 19, 2009 and June 20, 2009 for the Cherry Festival, coinciding with the Northwest Ohio Firefighter's Convention. 6 ayes

Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to authorize the Solicitor to prepare legislation authorizing the Administrator to make applications for Ohio Public Works Commission Grant/Loan Funds for the Dutch Road Sanitary Sewer Project and possibly a Field Street Reconstruction Project application pending available funds and declaring an emergency. 5 ayes 1 nay Michelle Tippie
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Michelle Tippie to authorize the Solicitor to prepare legislation authorizing the Administrator of the Village of Whitehouse, Lucas County, Ohio to enter into a contract with the Walter H. Drane Company for publication of the original Ordinances of the Village of Whitehouse on the world wide web for internet access for the sum of $2,400.00 and $30.00/month with the $30.00/month fee waived for the remainder of 2008, and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to accept, as previously authorized, Resolution 19-2008 authorizing the Village Administrator to apply for special project (FEMA, DHS) grant funds as same shall be sponsored by the Lucas County Emergency Management Agency, at its first reading and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to suspend the rules and to have the second and third reading of Resolution 19-2008 by title only and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Bill May, seconded by Debby Curry to accept Resolution 19-2008 at its second and third reading and to pass said Resolution and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Maridee Curry to accept, as previously authorized, Ordinance 12-2008 providing for submittal to the electors of the Village of Whitehouse, Lucas County, Ohio, of certain amendments to the Charter of the Village of Whitehouse at the November 4, 2008 General Election at its first reading and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes

Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Michelle Tippie to authorize the Solicitor to prepare legislation providing for sale and disposal of surplus personal property titled, held or owned by the Village of Whitehouse, Lucas County, Ohio; Which sale or disposal of said surplus property shall be conducted through the process of internet sale or auction, and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes

Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to authorize the Solicitor to prepare legislation determining that a certain 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Vehicle owned by the Village of Whitehouse, Lucas County, Ohio is of no further use to the Village and is hereby determined to be surplus property to be sold upon the internet and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Maridee Curry to accept Resolution 21-2008 determining that a certain 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Vehicle owned by the Village of Whitehouse, Lucas County, Ohio is of no further use to the Village and is hereby determined to be surplus property to be sold upon the internet at its first reading and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to suspend the rules and to have the second and third reading of Resolution 21-2008 by title only and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Maridee Curry to authorize that upon completion of her probationary period, Cheryl Smigelski stay on as a full time employee of the Fire Department. 6 ayes
Motion by Debby Curry, seconded by Bill May to accept, as previously authorized, Resolution 20-2008 authorizing the Administrator to enter into a contract for the milling and resurfacing of portions of Wyndham, Wycliffe, and Westwyck Drives, and Long and Gilead Streets in the Village of Whitehouse, Lucas County, Ohio in accord with Issue II monies for same at its first reading and declaring an emergency. 6 ayes
