The first meeting of the Whitehouse Fire Department was held on May 25, 1886 with Chief William K. Jones presiding… the Village of Whitehouse Fire Department has come a long way since then! From a hand pumper, plenty of strong men with buckets, and a horse drawn wagon to the state of the art equipment used today - residents and business owners should feel safe with our top notch Department.

In 1975 Rexam Beverage Can Company (fka American Can Company) donated a piece of land on Waterville Street next to their plant to be used for a new fire station. The grand opening was held in 1977 and in 1999 a large addition was added to house equipment.

In 2003, Daryl McNutt was appointed Chief after having been employed by the Village of Whitehouse for 26 years. He joined the Fire Department in 1981 as a Volunteer Firefighter and was promoted to Assistant Chief in 1993. Chief McNutt belongs to the State EMS Board, the Lucas County EMS Board, and also the Lucas County Fire Chief's Association. He and his wife, Deb, reside in the Village and enjoy camping, fishing and boating in their spare time.

Feel free to contact the Chief at 419-877-0363 or by e-mail at dmcnutt@whitehouse.ohio.gov.
