Wabash Cannonball Trail
The
Wabash Cannonball Trail is a 63 mile multi-use recreational trail in Northwest
Ohio. It provides non-motorized access to hikers, bikers, equestrians (in some
locations), and cross-country skiers. The 12 foot wide trail surface varies
within the different jurisdictions, from asphalt to hard packed cinder ballast.
The Village of Whitehouse has approximately 3.4 paved miles of the Wabash
Cannonball Trail running through
the
Village limits. Many of the new subdivisions located in Whitehouse have
connecting sidewalks and paths which lead to the Trail. It passes through the
uptown area of Whitehouse, where many bikers, joggers and walkers can be seen
sitting on the park benches visiting with each other and enjoying an ice cream
cone from The General's Depot, the locally owned ice cream shop featuring many
varieties of handmade ice cream.
