Infrastructure

The Village has its own water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Both systems are tied into Lucas County systems for treatment. The Village owns and maintains the lines within the corporate limits and selected lines extend outside the corporate limits, but within the sanitary sewer service area.

The Village's water system includes two elevated water towers which connect to the County system at a meter station located near the northern corporate limits.  Click here for water and sewer rates.

The sanitary sewers throughout the Village connect into a regional pump station at Finzel and Bucher Roads. Wastewater is discharged through a Village force main from this pump station to the Lucas County Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) near Jerome and River Roads. The Village uses a shallow system with a series of numerous lift stations as a means of transporting wastewater to the regional pump station for pumping to the Lucas County River Road WWTP.

The Village is currently in the process of extending the water and sanitary sewer lines to the east along SR 64 in order to accommodate the expected new industry and development which will follow the SR24 "Fort to Port" bypass.
